Jonathan David Godfrey

Jonathan David Godfrey is a Survivors Network Co-founder, flight nurse, air-medical safety advocate, public speaker, Chief Operating Officer of LZControl.com, and a partner at Protean, LLC. Godfrey is best known for his air medical and helicopter safety advocacy, having survived a January 2005 LifeEvac 2 medical helicopter crash into the Potomac River in the Washington, D.C. Metro area. He released a book about his experiences -- "Max Impact: A Story of Survival" -- with award-winning investigative journalist and columnist M.J. Brickey. Godfrey's award-winning presentation — by the same name as his book — has touched thousands, nationally and abroad. He has presented his expert opinions and research to the FAA, Congress, and the Commission on Accreditation of Air Medical Transport Systems, and speaks regularly about helicopter crash prevention and survivability. Mr. Godfrey currently serves on the National Emergency Medical Services Memorial Service board of directors and is a part of the US Helicopter Safety Team.
