Sherry Yang

Sherry Yang is manager of Airspace Operation Efficiency (AOE) at Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) in Chantilly, VA. She is responsible for executing AOE’s missions and collaborating with the FAA NextGen office, the FAA Tech Center, NASA, and industry partners for integrated technology development in the areas of trajectory based operation (TBO), autonomous operation (AO), data analytics, communications, air traffic management (ATM), unmanned aircraft system traffic management (UTM), and Urban Air Mobility. Yang serves as a deputy on managing AOE’s technology development portfolios at international sites including Brazil, China, India, Spain, and Turkey. Yang is a facilitator who fosters the public and private partnership to develop and evaluate new technologies and operation concepts for the aviation ecosystem.
Previously, Yang was a program manager on numerous Boeing proprietary programs and U.S. Government Contracts. Yang is an ATM practitioner with focuses on connected airplane, flight, fleet and airspace operations, and autonomy. She is heavily engaged with government, industry and academia technical committees. She is Secretary of AIAA Digital Avionics Technical Committee (DATC) and a Boeing member of AIA Airspace Working Group.
