James Eberwine

Active in meteorology for 50 years, James Eberwine retired from the National Weather Service in February 2010.  He served as Hurricane and Marine Weather Program manager, responsible for hurricane preparedness for the New Jersey and Delaware coasts, Chesapeake Bay, and southeast Pennsylvania.  Jim served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1971 and was Weather Advisor for President Richard M. Nixon’s Marine1/Army1 Helicopter flights at the San Clemente Western White House, 1969-71.  His NSW office was located at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center from 1977 to 1989 in the main hangar – “Building 301.”   Jim continues to brief local First Responders and UAS operators on impending weather, serves as Absecon’s Emergency Management Coordinator, and teaches aviation courses at Atlantic Cape Community College and the Atlantic County Institute of Technology.
